About us
Tibet Open House is an artistic and cultural venue and also a sanctuary of cultural exchange and understanding. Our ethos is rooted in the four principal commitments of his H.H. Dalai Lama:
- Promotion of Human Values
- Promotion of Religious Harmony
- Preservation of Tibet’s Culture & Environment
- Revival of Ancient Indian Knowledge
On one hand, it is a place where diverse individuals come together to explore Tibetan history, tradition, art, and philosophy, but it doesn’t simply end there. We hope that the very name of our organisation would give the right impression to people; a space which is safe and open to everyone. We welcome diverse religions, cultures, arts, and philosophies, and do our best to facilitate the sharing and learning of various beliefs and perspectives. This openness nurtures cultural exchange, tolerance, dialogue, and enriched worldviews.
Tibet Open House is supported by the Linhart Foundation and in 2016 was personally blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, during a personal audience of Gesh Yeshi Gawa and Jan Mayer. The project was later blessed by His Holiness the Karmapa.
